SPIRITUAL ANECDOTES

*Anecdotes= here ‘Anecdotes’ means Narrative

  • True spirituality is NOT limited to any one man’s, one book opinionated religious (Dogmatisms/ blind faith) but IT is always simple, natural and Universal.
  • A prejudiced mind can never realise or attain Universal Consciousness/Supreme Truth/God Consciousness because of its conditioned limitations.
  • Any philosophy/religion must withstand the scrutiny of science, sense, logic, reasoning, and “questioning”. Constant questioning and enquiry alone will lead to the Real Truth, not blind faith.
  • If any hollow philosophy/ religion under the guise of divine revelation BARS questioning and enquiry then it is clear that questioning and enquiry will expose its hollowness, Therefore, following such a philosophy/religion will lead to darkness ( Andhah tamah pravishanthi ae avidyam upasate – Eshopanishath) e. one who practises hollow philosophy believing it as spiritual truth, will lead himself into a greater darkness i.e. into the darker layers of the creation, meaning into micro or macro animal bodies depending upon one’s karma, though the soul or consciousness remains pure and divine yet it suffers all limitations of that specific animal body and behaviour accordingly.
  • A mind constantly indoctrinated with a particular philosophy / religion is a caged bird which lives and dies with that indoctrinated state of mind, closing the doors to the REAL TRUTH.
  • If the caged bird is released from the cage (i.e., totally open minded for receiving the Supreme Knowledge wherever it comes from), it can freely try to reach the REAL TRUTH (the goal) without any inhibitions and obstructions.
  • Hinduism encompasses varieties of Cosmic Spiritual disciplines under one umbrella called SANATHANA DHARMA, so that it helps the Sadhaka (seeker) in arriving at truly spiritually evolutionary path of knowledge devoid of any type of Dogmatism.

In Sanathana Dharma (Hinduism) though there are several spiritual disciplines i.e., ways through which the seeker, devotee, worshiper can adopt and evolve towards the same goal (Supreme Truth/ God/ Universal Consciousness). The Sadhaka (seeker) is also totally free to have his/her own direct approach to the Supreme Being if one chooses to and need not adhere to any of the available disciplines. In Sanathana Dharma, there is absolute spiritual freedom and there are no dogmas and no regimentation further there is no inducement of fear of God. If one is committed to comprehensive righteousness (Dharma), Justice and Morality and service to all the living beings, whoever he is, where ever he is, such a person is practising Sanathana Dharma.

  • The core and the highest order of the Hindu Spiritual philosophy / wisdom emphasizes about the THAT formless, unmanifest, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, all pervading Supreme Being/ Universal Consciousness/ God which is pervading in every atom of the entire creation as well as beyond the creation and yet does not preach monotheistic, monotonous dogmatic way of life.

On the other hand, it envisages Meditation, worship/devotion to the variety of manifested forms of the Supreme Being (as expressed by the Supreme Being ITSELF and NOT as imagined by the Sadhaka’s/seekers), so that the seeker/devotee/worshipper can behold the Supreme Being/Universal Consciousness/God, in IT’S own manifested forms. The devotee can easily feel, touch and interact with the Supreme Being in an emotional way and also could realise the form which he is worshipping (personal deity form), and through which the devotee/seeker can also realise THAT formless, all pervading Supreme Being through this worship of manifested form.

Therefore, worshiping the Supreme Being in its manifested forms is a common practise in Hinduism. All these manifested forms of the Supreme Being are nothing but the Supreme Being ITSELF which are operating in HIS creation in varied ways at varied levels maintaining the creation. If the Supreme Being is not capable of manifesting ITSELF in varied forms as IT wishes (to manage the creation) then it is not worth worshipping/praying/Meditating on IT.

Spiritual Sadhaka’s (seekers)/ devotees have realised and experienced the manifested forms of the Supreme Being in Bharath (India) since the time immemorial and attained immortality in the Supreme Being by worshiping IT’S manifested forms. Thus, Sanathana Dharma has one Supreme God manifesting in many many God forms in the course of operating and sustaining the creation which is also HIMSELF in form.

  • Hinduism/Sanathana Dharma has two sides of coin approach to THAT Supreme Being/Universal Consciousness/God. The first side is Vedantic approach where the Supreme Being is approached as a formless, Omniscient, Omnipotent, All Pervading ONE, beyond time and Space, beyond creation YET pervading in every atom of the creation including living and non-living beings equally without any difference, because the entire creation is HIMSELF/ITSELF and it is within HIM and yet HE is beyond creation. It is also called as AKSHARA (that which never ceases to exist). This path is usually an intellectual approach taken by Sages and Saints and even by common man through the path of Meditation, Japa (repetition of divine name), Contemplation (thinking about the nature of the Supreme Being all the time). Shravana (hearing/chanting of various divine names), Manana (constantly mentally repeating a personally chosen divine names) etc.

The other side of the coin approach to the Supreme Being is through the worship of its varied manifested forms as Gods and Goddesses (Laws of nature) who are governing the various layers of the creation. Each God or Goddess in the manifested form is easily approachable, which in turn connect the worshipper directly to THAT formless Supreme Being because they have manifested from the Supreme Being ITSELF. This path is Vedic path. The divine manifestations are invoked and worshipped in their manifested forms because these forces have revealed to the any number of Sages in the extreme past exactly in the similar forms as being worshipped today and they have described these manifested forms of the Supreme Being, and they are also found in the temples as deities and being worshipped. This way of worship is easy to get hold of the Supreme Being and one can emotionally feel, touch and pay obeyance easily with devotional prayers.

This second path is mainly followed by the common man who are in the normal way of life yet deeply interested in the spiritual evolution. Therefore, the common worshippers get hold of the manifested forms of the Supreme Being as Gods and Goddesses and emotionally worship them and experience them and through them they realise THAT unmanifest Nature of the Supreme Being. Bothe are equally efficacious paths as declared by Lord Krushna in Bhagavadgitha.

  • A True Guru guides in the acquisition of THAT great spiritual knowledge but does not dictate the lives of the disciples. True Guru talks and teaches about the Supreme Truth which is already and ever existing. Never talks and teaches about that which is not there.

  • Hindu cultural way of life is the direct reflection of its Spiritual philosophy so that every layer of human beings can evolve according to their level of spirituality evolutionary instinct. Therefore, Hindu culture through its way of life is comprehensive and supportive in itself catering to human beings who are at different spiritual layers directing them to further higher spiritual orders in their spiritually evolutionary process.

  • Every human being is a prophet for his own life or himself because his Individual Consciousness (soul) is a part of THAT Universal Consciousness (God). Acquisition of knowledge and experience through pure intuition (available to everyone including animals) makes everyone a prophet. Therefore, no one calling himself/ herself a prophet need to dictate other’s way of life.

  • Any person without having full knowledge of a subject or practise of it, making comments, arguments or passing judgements on it, is the greatest fool on the earth.

  • The culture of Sanathana Dharma is directly connected to Cosmic events in tune with nature, for example the new year of Hindu’s exactly begins in the spring every year when the whole nature is fresh after shedding the old leaves and arrival of fresh leaves and flowers i.e., whole nature is freshly decorated annually. Similarly, other Hindu festivals are also based on Cosmic events happened in the long Cosmic timescale. The Hindu culture is purely in tune with the nature.

  • Physical and mental sciences are only the off-springs of that Supreme Being who is the Master of it.
